Carpentry Learning Facilitator
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
The Carpentry Learning Facilitator is a permanent full-time position in Hawkes Bay to work alongside teaching staff to enhance the student learning experience. This role is pivotal in supporting practical learning, ensuring teaching facilities are safe and functional, and providing additional assistance to students who need it. The position contributes to integrating theory and practice, developing new learning resources, and maintaining strong industry connections.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $54,000 and $64,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Carpentry Learning Facilitator is based in our Trades and Technology School at EIT, reporting to the Head of School Trades and Technology, and will be responsible for:
- Working alongside students to encourage and support their learning.
- Demonstrating use of equipment, software, and materials.
- Assisting students to master technical carpentry skills.
- Supporting teaching staff with integrating theory and practical methodologies.
- Maintaining safe and functional teaching facilities.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive knowledge and practical skills in carpentry (essential).
- Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy for students and ability to support diverse learning needs.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and strong organisational skills.
- Relevant trade qualification (essential); teaching qualification desirable.
