Change and Organisation Effectiveness (OE) Lead

As we navigate a period of change and transformation, we are seeking a Change and Organisational Effectiveness (OE) Lead to help shape and deliver key aspects of our organisation and people strategy over an 18-month fixed-term period. This fixed term role, reporting to the EIT People & Culture Director, is based at our Hawke’s Bay campus.

In this pivotal role, the Change and Organisation Effectiveness (OE) Lead will deliver the co-creation of EIT’s change practice, ensuring change initiatives are both sustainable and impactful. At the same time, they will support current and future change efforts while also championing organisational effectiveness and kaimahi experience initiatives. By empowering our kaimahi and leaders, this role will help create lasting change for Ākonga, whānau, and future generations.

Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

As the Change and Organisation Effectiveness Lead, you will:

  • Develop and implement EIT’s organisational change practice, ensuring it is strategically designed, effectively embedded, and culturally grounded (founded in our values of kotahitanga, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and taituarā).
  • Build capability across EIT, equipping leaders and kaimahi with the tools and confidence to lead and sustain change.
  • Lead the design and implementation of organisational effectiveness initiatives, including a focus on organisational practices relating to performance, development and engagement.
  • Improve kaimahi experience and interactions throughout the kaimahi journey, ensuring a seamless and memorable journey, while creating efficiency through technology and integration.
  • Leverage digital tools, automation, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the People & Culture Director with delivery of the People Strategy.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Your personal affinity to EIT’s values and experience in kaupapa Māori change and people (HR) practice.
  • Proven experience leading transformation initiatives across change management, organisational effectiveness, and kaimahi experience.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration and alignment across all levels of the organisation.
  • A data-driven approach, using insights to track progress, measure impact, and refine strategies.
  • A future-focused mindset, leveraging tech, automation, and digital solutions to enhance organisational efficiency.
  • An ability to navigate complex environments, balancing strategic priorities with practical implementation.
