Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

EIT is seeking a skilled and experienced Coordinator Engagement and Transitions to join our Business Relationship team. This key role will see you co-ordinate effective industry, community and secondary schools engagement and to support appropriate student pathways into further education or transition into employment.

Key responsibilities include:

Liaison / Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build and maintain networks with Māori and Pasifika providers, secondary schools, industry, and community groups.
  • Support students in accessing education pathways, training, or employment.

Event Management

  • Ensure EIT events (e.g., expos, open days, graduations) are professionally executed.
  • Assist with the organization and management of regional events.

Communication

  • Attend relevant meetings with Māori, community, industry, schools, and EIT.
  • Compile reports, meet deadlines, and strengthen connections with student support services.

Te Toka Trades Training

  • Actively promote the Te Toka initiative and inform eligible students.
  • Manage enrolments, communication plans, and reporting for the Te Toka scholarship.

Customer Service

  • Collaborate with the Campus Manager to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Train and develop staff to ensure seamless operations during absences.

General Responsibilities

  • Review job responsibilities annually and participate in performance appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Privacy Act, and QMS standards

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of vocational education and training as it relates to adults      
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding about vocational pathways including NZ Apprenticeships, Cadetships 
  • Experience in communicating and working with young adults is essential, in particular with Māori and Pasifika students
  • Up to date knowledge of the local labour market, and opportunities
