The Digital Infrastructure Manager is a full-time, permanent position based in Hawke's Bay that plays a critical leadership role in supporting EIT's digital environment, ensuring core infrastructure, enterprise platforms and cybersecurity services enable exceptional experiences for ākonga and kaimahi.

The role leads a specialist engineering team responsible for EIT's cloud, server, network, storage, identity, enterprise platform and security environments, ensuring these services are secure, resilient and fit for purpose. Working closely with the Digital Operations Manager and stakeholders across the organisation, the position translates strategic direction into practical technology roadmaps, operational resilience initiatives and continuous improvement programmes. The appointing salary for this role will be dependent on skills and experience.

The Digital Infrastructure Manager is based in our Kāhui Matihiko | Digital, reporting to the Digital Operations Manager and will be responsible for:

• Leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of EIT's enterprise infrastructure environment.
• Managing cloud, server, network, storage, identity and cybersecurity platforms to ensure secure and reliable operations.
• Providing leadership and development for the Infrastructure Engineering Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
• Driving infrastructure lifecycle management, capacity planning and technology renewal programmes.
• Leading infrastructure resilience, disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning activities.
• Overseeing operational cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management and security monitoring across enterprise platforms.
• Acting as the senior escalation point for major infrastructure incidents and coordinating technical recovery activities.
• Managing technology vendors, service providers and strategic partnerships to deliver value and performance.
• Supporting infrastructure projects through technical leadership, solution design advice and operational readiness planning.
• Identifying opportunities to improve automation, monitoring, security and operational efficiency across the digital environment.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A minimum of five years' experience leading infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity or enterprise systems teams.
• Proven experience managing complex enterprise infrastructure environments within medium to large organisations.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
• Strong technical expertise across Microsoft technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune and Defender.
• Experience managing Microsoft and Linux server environments and enterprise hosting platforms.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless networking, VPNs and firewalls.
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks, operational controls, vulnerability management and security best practices.
• Expertise in virtualisation, storage, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, problem-solving and relationship management skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, VMware, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, CCNA or equivalent.
