Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

EIT is seeking a skilled and experienced Coordinator Engagement and Transitions to join our Business Relationship team. This will is to engage with industry and/or secondary schools to identify vocational opportunities to support potential and existing students so that they are able to pathway into further education or employment.

Key responsibilities include:

Liaison / Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong networks with high schools, industry training organisations, and community groups.
  • Collaborate with schools to promote vocational opportunities and support students’ transition plans.

Event Management

  • Support high schools and community organisations in running vocational events.
  • Organise an expo event prioritising four key industry sectors (e.g., Construction, Primary Industries, Tourism, Creative Sectors).

Communication

  • Share and develop vocational information for schools and key stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings, compile reports, and perform basic market research as needed.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of local vocational employment and economic conditions.
  • Adhere to EIT | Te Pūkenga policies, ensure safe practices, and contribute to professional development.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong  understanding of vocational education, pathways, NS Apprenticeships, and      Cadetships, particularly for young adults.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the local labour market, Māori and Pasifika engagement, and      TEC’s Ngā Kete information tools.

Skills Required

  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and event management skills.
  • Strong digital literacy, organisational abilities, and proficiency in planning, prioritising, and meeting deadlines.

Special Aptitudes

  • Commitment to fostering a culturally sensitive environment and customer-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability.

Personal Attributes

  • High level of integrity, flexibility, and self-motivation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Innovative and solutions-focused mindset.

Qualification

  • A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
