Kaiwhakaako - Te Ūranga Waka
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
Te Ūranga Waka (School of Māori Studies) is seeking to appoint a part-time kaiwhakaako to teach on their te reo and tikanga programmes commencing 2025.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $68,534 and $78,396, dependent on skills and experience.
The Kaiwhakaako is based in our Te Ūranga Waka | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Pouarataki, Head of School and Poutuara, Assistant Head of School, Te Ūranga Waka and will be responsible for:
- Whakaako i ngā hōtaka tohu me ngā hōtaka tiwhikete: Ko te Kaiwhakaako e whakaako ana i ngā hōtaka tohu me ngā hōtaka tiwhikete o Te Ūranga Waka.
- Whakawhanake i te marautanga: Me whakarite, me whakahou hoki i te marautanga kia hāngai ki ngā whakaritenga o te Poari Akoranga.
- Awhina i ngā ākonga: Me āwhina i ngā ākonga, me whakarite hoki i ngā hōtaka kia hāngai ki ngā hiahia motuhake o ia ākonga.
- Whakamahi i ngā hangarau mātauranga: Me whakamahi i ngā hangarau mātauranga hei whakaako me te ārahi i ngā ākonga, pēnei i te Moodle, Adobe Connect, me ngā taputapu hanga ihirangi.

To be successful in this role you will have:
· Me matatau tonu ki te reo Māori me ōna tikanga
· Me mōhio koe ki ngā tikanga ā-iwi me ngā tikanga ā-hapū o te rohe
· Me aroha ki te ākonga tauhou rawa ki te reo me ōna āhuatanga
· Mena he tohu paetahi Reo Māori tōu, ko te painga atu tēnā
· Mena he tohu Whakaako Pakeke tōu, ā, kua whai wāhi atu rānei koe ki te whakaako i te hunga pakeke - ko te painga atu tēnā
