 Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

The role of the Lecturer in Health and Wellbeing at EIT involves delivering teaching in the Health and Wellbeing programmes, specifically the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Support Work Level 3 & Advanced Support Level 4). The lecturer is responsible for curriculum development, student learning, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality education and support for students. 

The appointing salary for this role will be between $60,000 and $85,000 FTE, dependent on skills and experience.

The Lecturer - Health and Wellbeing is based in our School of Health and Sport Science, EIT | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Assistant Head of School, Health and Sport Science and will be responsible for: 

  • Course Development: Update and develop curriculum, create course materials, and contribute to new course development.
  • Student Learning: Define learning objectives, facilitate diverse learning experiences, and provide practical learning opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with team members on curriculum development and provide academic guidance to students.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and maintain student assessments, ensuring reliability and validity through moderation activities.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Educational Background: Relevant tertiary qualification in the health field, with a preference for a tertiary teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Recent and diverse experience in the health and disability sector, with teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills, along with good organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Cultural Competence: Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues, with a commitment to a culturally sensitive environment.
