EIT Tairāwhiti is seeking a passionate and experienced Primary School educator to join our Bachelor of Teaching Primary Educator/Lecturer team, based in Gisborne.  This role, (previously advertised) will now commence from Semester 2, 2025.

Our Bachelor of Teaching Primary (BTP) degree is a unique three year programme that focuses on building authentic partnerships with local schools and prioritises the importance of blended school based learning and on-campus classes.  We are committed to providing fully supportive, small-class environments, with excellent awhi and pastoral care for our tertiary learners.  Our curriculum is highly regarded by the profession and the Teaching Council and produces sought-after graduates.

You will be part of a small team of highly experienced educators based in Tairāwhiti/Gisborne, but part of the wider BTP team of educators based at the Taradale campus in Napier.  We are a collaborative team, who work to minimise the distance between our campuses by regular opportunities for both educators and learners to come together.

As a lecturer at EIT, you would be expected to contribute to the research programme and having already achieved a Masters would stand you in great stead for this position.  That being said, if you don't already have a Masters, we would enrol you in EIT's Master of Professional Practice, free of charge, to undertake the required Masters level study.

Experience in tertiary teaching is not necessary and course teaching will be negotiated with the successful teacher, taking strengths and interests in to consideration.
