Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, Computing ZYU, China
If you are interested in assisting with the delivery of the Bachelor of Computer Systems (BCS) at our partner institution Zhejiang Yuexiu University (ZYU) of Foreign Languages in China, then read on. We require staff to teach the following courses at ZYU from April 2023:
- Agile Projects (L5)
- Automation & Embedded Systems (L6)
- Database Management Systems (L6)
- Knowledge Management (L6)
- Systems Design (L6)
We require staff to teach the following courses at ZYU from September 2023:
- IT Concepts & Tools (L5)
- Advanced Internet and Web (L6)
- Electronics and IoT (L6)
- Systems Analysis (L6)
These positions could either be filled as fulltime appointments teaching 2 courses over an academic year, or part-time teaching 1 course over a semester.
Please indicate your teaching area, including for a fulltime appointment, the courses you could teach in April and September.
We are flexible on where staff are located in New Zealand.
The EIT ZYU Bachelor of Computer Systems (BCS) Joint Education Programme will see EIT staff deliver a course in China over an 8-week teaching period.
Additional travel requirements would see staff away for a total of up to 12 weeks, including travel and teaching. EIT and ZYU will pay for all staff travel, accommodation, meals and other appropriate associated costs while staff are in China.
Staff will need to be able to meet the requirements for a Z Visa to enter China, along with any other Shaoxing provincial requirements for the purposes of living and working in that region.
In addition, staff need to have a minimum of a Masters qualification, although a PhD is preferred. Teaching experience is highly desirable.All teaching and assessment resources for courses have been developed for delivery in China.
