EIT is seeking a dynamic Payroll Services Manager to lead a dedicated team, ensuring timely, accurate, and budget-friendly payroll services. If you have a passion for payroll and a drive to make a significant impact, we want you to join our team! 

The appointing salary for this role will be negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.

The Payroll Manager is based in our Hawkes Bay campus, EIT | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Te Pūkenga Payroll and Assurance Lead  and will be responsible for: 

  • Payroll Management: Oversee and process EIT’s payroll, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, and maintain the integrity of payroll data and systems.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all payroll data meets compliance and audit requirements, and provide necessary reports and interfaces for stakeholders.
  • Project Support: Monitor and report on payroll projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the payroll team, providing coaching, feedback, and ensuring performance and development plans are in place.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and improve payroll resources, policies, procedures, and systems, and ensure best practices in payroll processes and systems.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant business-related qualification (e.g., Business Administration, Office Systems, Accountancy) and NZPPA Certificate (advantageous).
  • Minimum of 5 years in payroll management and 7-10 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and payroll systems, with experience in payroll implementations preferred.
  • Proven people leadership skills and experience in business process improvement.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a commitment to operational and customer service excellence.
