 Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of facilities, stock control, and administrative functions within the institution. It supports the effective delivery of educational programmes by managing budgets, maintaining records, and ensuring a safe and clean environment. The role also involves liaising with various stakeholders to meet the needs of staff and students, contributing to the overall success and quality of the institution. 

The appointing salary for this role will be between $51,150 and $58,771 full time FTE, dependent on skills and experience.

NOTE: As EIT closes down over the Holiday period, Shortlisting for this role will happen after 13th January 2025.

The part time (FTE.8) Technician is based in our School of Health and Sport Science, EIT   | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Assistant Head of School, Health and Sport Science  and will be responsible for: 

  • Administration: Manage invoicing, budgets, and maintain filing systems.
  • Stock Control: Order and manage stock, maintain inventory levels, and coordinate annual stock takes.
  • Facilities and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure a safe, clean work environment, maintain equipment, and liaise with service agents for repairs.
  • General Duties: Comply with policies, attend meetings, and support events and graduations.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain records, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Understanding and commitment to Health and Safety standards.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently.
